Author Topic: 5 Hummingbirds at our feeder today! (Read 1465 times)

We have 2 feeders, but all 5 hummers wanted to fight over just one of them. We've never had more than 2 at a time before. It was really fun to watch. Tomorrow I'll try to get a photo.

We use to have quite a few hummingbirds here at the house. I found the cutest feeders for them that are tiny and decorated so cool. Here in the last week or so I haven't seen them at all. I hope they come back

I have a huge hanging basket with the baby petunias. Then I have begonias, Bright Red and Yellow Begonias, Pink petunias, minature salmon colored rose bush and a bunch of other flowers. So we'll see

You don't see them much when she's sitting on the nest.

Me too! But hubby says they don't get good gas mileage and we can't afford to buy one!

Ain't it the truth. They burn more energy fighting with each other than doing anything else. If they'd just declare a truce, they would have a lot more time to smell the flowers.

At our Maryland house, momma used to talk to her hummers. When she was watering her plants, and she had thousands, the hummers would fly back and forth through the mist. She would also call them and they would come. I have a video of them flying around her as she spoke to them..

My wife, how to say this nicely ummm, believes everyone is an axe murderer or well.. anyway, it took me a year and a half to get her to go with me to visit some internet friends in Chicago.
