Author Topic: Shih Tzu 2 yr old, Female (Read 1916 times)

Mom: We have two dogs - Sammy Sosa (a malti-poo) and Kody Ki Odee (a shih-tzu). Sammy and Kody decided that it would be fun to chase a rabbit out of our yard. They didn't realize that a rabbit can go much farther and faster, than they thought. As soon as I realized they were missing, my husband and I started walking around the neighborhood, and in the woods to see if they could be found. Within two hours, we found Sammy up on a street on the other side of the woods. Sammy went up to a house, scratched on the door to be let in and waited. Kody was still with him then. When a woman who lives there opened the door, she realized she was looking at two dogs that were apparently lost. While she was looking at Sammy's tags, Kody got spooked and ran off into the woods again. Within 5 minutes, by some awesome fate, we drove down to the end of that road and spotted Sammy. Sammy came running to us and he was put in the car while we continued the search for Kody. Kody didn't see Dad walking through the woods looking for her and didn't hear Mom calling her. That was at 8:30 Sunday February 15.

Kody: Mom and Dad have been looking all over for me - calling local radio stations to alert them, placing flyers wherever allowed and mom even walked up to a county sheriff's department car to give the officer a flyer. Dad couldn't believe it! Mom put flyers at animal clinics, gas stations, local restaurants, and has posted my photo all over the internet.

I'm lost and scared and don't know how to get home. Unless a guardian angel has taken me in, I'm cold, hungry and scared and now, my freshly cut hair is dirty. I'm 2 years old, mostly white with some dark gray/black markings. I have on a red collar that has one of those little bells on (when mom first put it on me, it used to scare me thinking I was being chased). I just got my hairi cut, so I'm pretty shaven all over. Can you tell us what area she was last seen in so folks can spread the word??

Kody was last seen on Cedar Lane, off of Holly Hills Terrace, off of Victoria Road, 5 1/5 miles south of Festus, MO 63028

Ok that's the problem then - I don't have the photo in photobucket, but in My Pictures on my computer. I was also trying to copy and paste, but it didn't work :(

Wanted to give an update. No word on Kody yet, but I've given a flyer to a local sherrif for the area he patrols. Also, a neighbor boy is going to go out during the day when I'm at work and call her name. I will also be going to the local elementary school to put her flyer there.

I am so sorry there is no news yet. Do you have a local paper you caould take an ad out in? We have a local paper where you can list lost pets for free. That may help in case someone has her in thier home

I would also take a flyer to every single animal hoapital and animal clinic around in case someone brings her in to get checked out or something

Also check out this site. It is a member of ours and she may be able to post oh her site. Her site does deal with petd.

Thank you Riley. I've dropped off flyers to the two largest animal clinics around here (and forgot about one small one), a groomer, two very busy gas stations, a mobile home sales lot, the local eatery, given one to a sheriff patrolling the area and have been talking to neighbors about her, I even put one at an RV sales place. All of those places are within a 3 mile radius. I have her listed at the local animal control in conjunction with Petfinder, have her on Kijiji, craigslist, findfido and I think one or two more than I can't think of right now - besides on here and the other site you have. I plan to contact the local newspaper to place an ad - not sure how much that will (if it's free that would be great!)

Thanks for your prayers - that and a LOT of hope is keeping me going.

Don't lose hope. I had a lhasa apso (?sp) that went missing for 2 weeks in the dead of winter.
She ended up in a home about 3 blocks away --- being very well taken care of.

I posted a flyer on the light pole at the end of every street and while the woman who had her didn't see it, one of her neighbors saw it and told her and I got my litte darlin back safe and sound.

Hmmm, funny that the women, who did have her, didn't put signs ups.. Hmmmmmmmmm..... makes you wonder..

One of our doggies like to run whenever given the chance however, was not smart enough to know her way home. The first time she took off, she was gone for 4 or 5 days. We put posters all over the neighborhood and a lady called. Lucky to say the least cause the lady could have kept her since she was a beautiful green eyed Siberian Husky.
