I love gardening, but I never have enough time for it, so my efforts are always hit & miss. I never thought I liked primroses (the plants are sorta weedy-looking) and I was always indifferent to colors -- I liked them all, with no particular preference. Last year I found yellow primrose plants on a bargain table, too cheap to resist, so I brought them home and stuck them in the ground for the snails to eat. About 3 weeks ago, we had a week of freezing weather and figured that was the end of everything. Also, I thought primroses were annuals. Anyway, last week I looked out and there were last year's bright yellow primroses in full bloom, turning a bleak winter landscape into the promise of SPRING! Now I'm in love with primroses and all yellow flowers. How can anybody look at a yellow flower and not feel better?
I LOVE yellow flowers, esp daffodils ---- but we don't have any. The only yellow we have are cactus blooms.
What a flood!!You have a gorgeous back yard. I miss our old house. It was on an acre that backed up to the river. It was nice :(
, Phil. Here's my "before & after" story:In 2005, our neighbors' daughter was getting married. She wanted a simple backyard ceremony. Our backyard opens onto a wide creek with a large, flat rockbed, so I volunteered it for the wedding. Seating was in our yard, facing the creek. The wedding party came across our little bridge and walked right out onto the rocks, where the preacher waited. Linda, mother-of-the-bride, and I spent the whole summer working on the flower beds around that little bridge. Here's what it looked like just before the wedding, then another shot a few months later. http://countrynaturals.com/flood.htm Now those flower beds are weeds and grass, just like yours.
