Buying an XBox -- What should we look for?

Bob wants an XBox 360. We can't really afford it, but there's a 4GB box on sale this week for $199. It doesn't come with anything extra but it would allow us to play Netflix movies on our TV. Will everything play on this one? Will we get home and find out we need another $300 worth of gadgets in order to have any fun with it? Is there anything else we need to know that I that I don't know enough to ask?

You will need to log into your XBox 360 and  you will need to get an XBox Live Gold membership If you want to stream the free Netflix movies and watch them. We do this all the time. We have one in our living room and our bedroom   Streaming is easy.

Regular Netflix movies will play on the XBox 360 but not Blu Ray movies.
