Spider Solitaire
« on: September 26, 2009, 09:53:31 AM »
I found this 2-deck super-solitaire game in a little 25-cent used paperback about 20 years ago. I played it the old-fashioned way until it came to the computer. Windows bundles it (at least XP did -- don't know about Vista). Now it's therapy for me  because of my slow connection speed. When I get on a roll, I can't just sit here and watch the hour glass, so I keep Spider running in the background all the time to play while web pages load. BTW, one of our former presidents -- FDR I think -- played this game.  8)

I've logged so many hours on this game I've even created how-to pages for my website. I only play the difficult version (4-suits).

Wife plays that on her computer. She plays the hardest level and wins often.

What makes this game so great is that it requires skill. Most solitaire games are just dumb luck.

(Now I have 2 things in common with your wife -- humming birds and spider solitaire.)
